Antioch Real Estate Information

A suburb of Nashville, the community Antioch, Tennessee, lies about 10 miles south of the city proper in the southern part of Davidson County. It's a mostly residential community of nearly 60,000, and residents here have a yearly median household of around $45,000. The city is just south of Nashville International Airport, the area's largest commercial airport, and it offers residents easy access to flights in and out of the city. It lies right off Interstate 24, thus granting residents easy and convenient access into Nashville and other cities in the region.

Antioch was established in 1810 and gets its name from the Antioch First Baptist Church. As recently as the middle of the 20th century it was a mostly agricultural area but now is a bit more suburban with retail centers and restaurants. The city gets an average of 10 inches of snowfall each year and an average of 48 inches of rainfall. It schools are operated under the Nashville-Davidson County School District, with a few elementary schools, Antioch Middle School and Antioch High School. For higher education, Nashville is home to at least 20 colleges and universities.

Antioch is home to the Hickory Hollow Mall, a mall with more than 150 stores, with a Sears and a Macy's as its anchors. The Family Golf Center is a go-kart and mini golf center in town. Ezell Road Park, William A Pitts Park and Paragon Mills Park are all nearby and within just a few minutes' drive. The town is just west of the large J Percy Priest Reservoir and its many waterfront parks, and Nashboro Golf Course is just a few miles east. For medical attention, the Southern Hills Medical Center is just a few miles away. Attractions in Nashville that can be easily reached include the Tennessee Titans football team, the Nashville Predators hockey team, a theater, a ballet, an opera, a symphony and a handful of museums.
