Goodlettsville Real Estate Information

A mid-sized community split among Davidson and Sumner counties, Goodlettsville, Tennessee, is home to a population of around 17,000 residents. It has increased in population by nearly 20 percent since the 2000 census, when its population was just over 13,000. The community was officially incorporated as a city in 1958 with just over 3,000 residents. The community encompasses an area of just a little more than 14 square miles and its residents have a median household income of just upward of $45,000 a year.

The community was once solely an agricultural economy, and though today it has diversified there are still crops such as corn, hay, soybeans, tobacco, fruits and vegetables grown here. The largest employers in Goodlettsville are Tyson Foods, with 1,500 employees, Dollar General with 900, and 31-W Insulation with 800. There are eight commercial banks, three area hospitals and three health clinics to serve residents. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority operates a regular bus service to provide easy access to downtown Nashville, and the Nashville International Airport is just 17 miles southeast of here.

The Davidson County portion of the town has two elementary schools and one middle school: Goodlettsville Elementary School, Gateway Elementary School and Goodlettsville Middle School, all of which ultimately feed in to Metro Nashville Schools' Hunters Lane cluster. The Sumner County portion of the community has only one school within the city limits, Madison Creek Elementary School, which then feeds to Hunter Middle School and Beech Senior High School in nearby Hendersonville. There also are two private schools in the town and Nossi College Of Art is located here.

Attractions in Goodlettsville include the Delmas Long Community Center, the Ridgetop Historical Society, three community parks: Peay Park, Moss Wright Park and Pleasant Green Park; five golf courses, one bowling alley, two country clubs and two theaters. There are two shopping centers and more than 40 houses of worship.
